New crochet blanket

I have been wanting to try my hand at making a ripple blanket. I just love those ripples. So I went searching and found one I really like over at Attic 24. I have made her stuff before & it is awesome. Here is the pattern I am using.  The pattern is called neat ripple. Here is what I have made so far.

Some more.

So far so good.

Cute Bunny

I found this cute crochet bunny by the green dragonfly and there is a free pattern to make it.

Here is a little of my yarn stash.

I had to stop at Walmart and get some stuffing and went to Joann for the  safety eyes.

These are the pieces I have crochet so far to make one.

I made the muzzle and used some black thread to do the nose.

Time to attach the muzzle and the eyes.

Next, I made the pom-pom. I wrapped the light pink yarn around my fingers then tied it off. Then I cut all the yarn loops and evened it out.

Then I attached the pom-pom to the back of the other body piece and tied it off.

I stuff the body and sewed up the edges. After that I sewed on the ears.

TA DA Here they are all done. I have made these two so far and stating on a third.

The bunny's backsides :)

Makin' rice crispy peeps

I started making' the treats & had already cut them and started putting them in a bag & wrapping them when I thought I could blog  about them today. So here are the deets.

Make some rice crispy treats ( I figure everyone's gotta have a recipe for them...right).
While they are still warm grab a peep (you could use any kind or color) and press it onto your rice crispys.
I used 9 of the peeps for one pan full. Then I put them in my cool garage to set up. After awhile I brought them in and cut them into 9 squares.

Then I took each piece and put them into a cello bag. I used my pinking shears to trim off a little of the top of the bag. Then got a piece of fabric and tied it around the bag.

All wrapped and ready to give.
You could put more peeps and cut the rice crispy squares smaller but I wanted to give them a nice large treat.

Thankful Day

I haven't done any painting or messy play for awhile, so I got that urge to sit down and create.

I had an awesome time creating & getting messy!!!

Crocheting Machine

This winter I have been making lots of cowls. I love all the color and texture, and they keep me so warm. Just having them around your neck helps so much. We have had record cold days this winter.

I found a pattern at Bee & Buzz. A cute granny cowl, so I went for it. It has lots of the same colors as my "snake blanket".

Then I crochet the same color pattern again and again.

All done :)

Two in one

This post today is kinda a two in one.
First, I was making lots of cupcakes last week for Valentines Day. I only had one cupcake baking pan so I decided to head over to Walmart and pick up another pan.

As I was taking off the paper on it so I could wash and dry it, I was thinking this is pretty sturdy ( like the light cardboard material cereal boxes are made of)  and could I use it somehow as a stencil. So I held on to it

Later in the week I saw a post by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer about using newspaper to make something fun out of, and I wanted to try it.

I used my stencil on my gesso, painted, inky page. Then I glued it to a piece of light grey cardstock.

I like how it turned out.

Have a great weekend.
Connie :)
